Are you wondering what you’re going to have for lunch today? If you’re anything like me your morning always goes by much faster if you know you have a delicious sandwich to look forward to eating at lunch.
I often go through phases of food. One week I am obsessed with wraps and smoothies and then next time it’s salads. This week it’s been sandwiches. I know they can get heavy on carbs but hey if they fit within your macronutrients for the day some rye bread loaded with protein and veggies it’ s a great way to fuel your body.
The beautiful thing about sandwiches is that you can get super creative with what you add to them so if you have any food intolerances you can meet your needs.
For example, if you are trying to eat to a tailored lifestyle such as paleo you could substitute the bread for lettuce and make an avocado turkey and lettuce wrap instead.
It is truly whatever you want to make it. The most important thing is that you get to fuel your body with super delicious foods.
Instead of using mayonnaise on this sandwich which is super high in fat I added a chickpea hummus which is high in protein and low in calories and fats.
If you eat well and nourish your body with whole foods you’ll feel amazing and look amazing too. Giving your body the right foods that taste amazing will make living a healthy lifestyle even more enjoyable.

Avocado Turkey Sandwich
- 2 slices Rye Bread (or preferred type)
- 1 tbsp Hummus
- 5 slices Turkey
- 2 leaf's of lettuce
- 2 slices tomatoes
- 1/2 mashed Avocado
- dash salt and pepper
Toast both slices of bread. Spread hummus on one slice, add turkey meat, lettuce and sliced tomatoes
In a small bowl, mash half an Avocado with a fork and add a dash of salt and pepper
Spread the Avocado mash on the other slice of bread and add to the other half of your sandwich
Cut your sandwich in half and secure it with a toothpick
*Optional Toast your bread in a grilled cheese press
